| Description | Enoch Albert Bryan's history of the Washington State College is a cornerstone of the University's history. Bryan served as President of the University from 1893 to 1916 and returned to teach Economics and Economic History in 1923. Bryan first covers the beginnings and organization of the College in the 1890s. His narrative then moves on to development and expansion in the pre-World War One period. His book then covers the "new regime" of post-1918 development on the campus and the beginnings of the WSU Experiment Stations and Extension programs in Washington State. His exhaustive work covers numerous details of life at the College, emphasizing architecture, student life, athletics, education, and the development of Pullman alongside Washington State College. |
