Description	In this article the author discusses the suffrage and temperance views of Mrs. A.S. Duniway, a prominent advocate who worked with Susan B. Anthony to secure women's voting rights in the Pacific Northwest. The author focuses on the tenuous relationship between the temperance movement and the suffrage movement, a connection which may have delay women's access to the ballot. Also discussed is Duniway's speaking tour throughout the Washington territory, including stops in Walla Walla and Colfax. The author states, "Her appeal to women not to risk the wreck of their little ship of equal rights till the breezes of its power had carried them beyond the breakers of congressional interference into the harbor of statehood, where no law of men's making could rob them of their ballots, was pathetic, eloquent and masterly."
