To the
Editor
of the
Spokesman-Review
: In the
Spokesman-Review
of
today
I
notice
the
report
of an
address
by
Mr
.
Dill
given
last
evening
. The
subject
of his
address
seems
to be have been his
recent
experience
on the
western
front
, and
among
other
things
you
quote
him as
saying
, "
Our
boys
are
down
here,
south
of
Metz
,
which
is
in
German
country
, and
just
below
Verdun
" and
pointed
out
the
exact
spot
on the
map
. Also he
is
quoted
: "There were in
France
when
we
were there
less
than
100,000
American
troops.
"
Your
report
further
states
that
Mr
.
Dill
said
that he
thought
the
war
department
was
wrong
in not
telling
the
people
(what
he had
just
told
them)
where
the
United
States
forces
were
placed
