enter
the

of
teh

equal
in
quality
to
ours
, and
undersell
the
manufacturers
of
Oregon

definite
advantage
now
in a
lower
scale
of
wages
,
longer
hours
, and
lower

.

may
ship
in any
tramp
steamer
and
now
obtain
charters
for
shipment
through
the
Panama
canal
to the
Atlantic
coast
for
$8
and
$9
per
thousand
board
feet
;
Oregon
and
Washington
shippers
must
use
American
bottoms
and
pay
the
Intercoastal
conference
of
$12.50
,
fixed
to
enable
American
ship
owners
to
pay
American
wages
to
seamen
and
longshoremen
.
Lumber
workers
in
British
Columbia
may
be
paid
as
low
aas
25
cents
per
hour
; the
minimum
rate
in
Oregon
and
Washington
is
50
cents
and the
average
62.6
cents
.
