Description	Will take many years. - the drought committee, of course, has recommended a program of rehabilitation to the President. Asked how long it would take to carry out this program Mr. Cooke replied that "since it had taken the drought area fifty years to get that way it should not be too much to ask twenty to twenty-five years for its reclamation." Here the time element again cuts an unpleasant figure. Twenty to twenty-five years may seem as a day to theorists and experimentalists, but must sound like a long, long time to farmers on the land. The circumstances argue for speedy completion of such projects as Grand Coulee, so that farmers in the drought area will not have to wait so long unless they wish to.
